Product content TKU 2024-Jan-1

Technology-Knowledge-Update-TKU-2024-Jan-1 contains additional product content for the 21.05, 21.3, 22.1, 22.2, 23.1, and 23.3 versions of BMC Discovery.

Product content updates require appliance restart

This TKU release contains product content additions. The appliance is restarted when product content is added to the update. You can prevent the restart, but none of the knowledge content will be installed if you do so.

Feature updates

The following features and enhancements are introduced within the scope of this release:

CLOUD/AWS: Discovery improvements of cloud hosted Database nodes (to prevent duplicates). For more details, see (DRDC1-21926) and the documentation here.
NETWORK DEVICES: Added an ability to discover Polycom SoundStation devices through REST API. For more details, see (DRDC1-21789) and the documentation here.
STORAGE/NEW: Added a new storage system — IBM Spectrum Scale (REST). For more details, see (DRDC1-21783) and the documentation here.
STORAGE/NEW: Added support for EMC Data Domain Storage Systems through the embedded REST API. For more details, see (DRDC1-19729) and the documentation here.
STORAGE/NEW: Added support for Oracle ZFS Storage Systems through the embedded Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance REST API. For more details, see (DRDC1-7864) and the documentation here.
STORAGE: Added an option to configure the discovery of a remote storage system managed by Unisphere. For more details, see (DRDC1-22262) and the documentation here.
STORAGE: For the NexentaStor and Dell EMC ECS patterns, we now report the used capacity for the Storage System node through the total_consumed_capacity attribute. For more details, see (DRDC1-22416) and the documentation here.

Defects

The following defects are fixed within the scope of this release:

STORAGE: EMC Storage and Dell EMC PowerMax: Fixed an issue with a duplicated storage system when the host has software instances for both WBEM and REST simultaneously. For more details, see (DRDC1-22261) and the documentation here.
STORAGE: EMC VPLEX: Fixed an issue with a missing storage system group in a discovered distributed volume. For more details, see (DRDC1-22379) and the documentation here.
TOOLS: tw_support_tool general bug fixes. For more details see (DRUD1-40434).

Discovery commands are unchanged in Product Content 2024-Jan-1.

Taxonomy is updated for the following:
