Product Content TKU 2022-Jul-1

Technology Knowledge Update TKU 2022-July-1 contains the following additional product content for the BMC Discovery 12.0, 20.08, 21.05, 21.3, 22.1, and 22.2 series.

Warning

Product content updates require appliance restart

This TKU release contains product content additions. When product content is added, the appliance is restarted as part of the update. You are given the opportunity to prevent the restart, though if you do so, none of the knowledge content will be installed.

Feature updates

The following features were updated or introduced in Product Content 2022-July-1: 


  1. CLOUD/ORACLE/NEW : "Oracle Cloud Infrastructure" (OCI) is now discovered. For details, see (DRDC1-17928).
  2. CLOUD/AZURE: Added the new region for Azure - "China North 3". For details, see (DRDC1-19035).
  3. CLOUD: Cloud scan performances have been improved. For details, see (DRDC1-16992).
  4. CLOUD/AZURE: Updated missing attributes. For details, see (DRDC1-18791).
  5. CLOUD/IBM: IBM Cloud Enhancement request to update IBM Kubernetes model and add new attributes/tags. For details, see (DRDC1-17697).
  6. PRODUCT: Nutanix discovery is now supported via REST API. For details, see (DRDC1-18258).
  7. PRODUCT: Improvements to tw_support_tool. For details, see (DRUD1-36720).
  8. PRODUCT: Improved OpenShift cluster name extraction by adding a new API query into kubernetes.json file. For details, see (DRDC1-19078).
  1. PRODUCT: Provided the ability to discover hostname for API Discovery of Cohesity/DL380 Gen10 Devices. For details, see (DRDC1-19057).
  2. PRODUCT: Enhanced Linux clients/workstations classification. For details, see (DRDC1-19059).

Defects

The following defects were fixed in Product Content 2022-July-1: 

  1. CLOUD/AZURE: Some Azure-hosted VMs are not marked as a cloud. For details, see (DRDC1-18707).
  2. CLOUD/AZURE: ECA error reported by the pattern "MicrosoftAzure.Firewall.Firewall". For details, see (DRDC1-19130).
  3. PRODUCT: REST API data source with oauth2 should support string response. For details, see (DRDC1-18104).
  4. PRODUCT: The impact between Business Service and Technical service is not synchronized to CMDB. For details, see (DRDC1-19232).
  5. CLOUD/AZURE: ECA errors in Azure Scan caused by AzureVMScaleSet pattern. For details, see (DRDC1-19054).
  6. PRODUCT: Cyberark UI clear button broken on REST API UI on an Outpost. For details, see (DRUD1-37623).
  7. PRODUCT: tw_support_tool --check-db-corruption should use "db_recover -h ...". For details, see (DRUD1-37701).
  1. PRODUCT: tw_support_tool --check-db-corruption must not run db_recover while the services are running. For details, see (DRUD1-37704).

Changes to discovery commands

  1. Added metadata extraction for Linux/Windows Hosts in Oracle Cloud.
