Product Content TKU 2022-Jan-1

Technology-Knowledge-Update-TKU-2022-Jan-1 contains the following additional product content for the BMC Discovery 12.0, 20.08, 21.05, and 21.3 series.

Product content updates require appliance restart

This TKU release contains product content additions. When product content is added, the appliance is restarted as part of the update. You are given the opportunity to prevent the restart, though if you do so, none of the knowledge content will be installed.

Feature updates

The following features were updated or introduced in Product Content 2022-Jan-1: 

  1. CLOUD/AZURE: AzureManagementGroup pattern needs optimizing. For details, see (DRDC1-18050).
  2. CLOUD/AZURE: Azure Machine Learning inventory pattern. For details, see (DRDC1-16737).
  3. CLOUD/AWS: Add "Platform" and "Image Owner" attributes to the VirtualMachine node created by AWS Cloud Discovery. For details, see (DRDC1-17720).
  4. CLOUD/AWS: Add new Regions and update AWS endpoints lists for actual amazon services (Regular). For details, see (DRDC1-18102).
  5. CLOUD/AWS: Combine AWS roles and regular AWS scans (scan optimizations). For details, see (DRDC1-18003).
  6. CLOUD/AWS: Update some AWS patterns in order to not create cloud service if API call returns empty. For details, see (DRDC1-17975).
  7. CLOUD/OpenStack: Nova VM tags are now discovered using "metadata". for Details see (DRDC1-17779).
  8. CLOUD/OpenStack: add Nova VMs relationship to Host scanned via API Provider. For Details (see DRDC1-18006).
  9. SOFTWARE: Management links are now created for HPE Superdome Flex Management Controller and related hosts. (DRDC1-15871) 

Defects

The following defects were fixed in Product Content 2022-Jan-1: 

  1. CLOUD/AWS: AccessDenied traceback when attempting to assume the role without permission. For details, see (DRDC1-17632).
  2. CLOUD/AZURE: The "Azure Management (Classic)" link doesn't work anymore on the Microsoft Azure UI. For details, see (DRUD1-35028).
  3. CLOUD: GCP, IBM Cloud, and Alibaba metadata don't flag any requests as not for TPL. For details, see (DRDC1-18016).
  4. ADE/BHOM: Imports.inferHost function errors when no interfaces or ip_addrs are provided. For details, see (DRDC1-18115).
  5. SOFTWARE: Large negative values for DB credential timeout can be entered. For details, see (DRUD1-31758).
  6. NVD: Action>Search Drop-down for NVD link does not exist at Network Devices. For details, see (DRDC1-17771).
  7. CMDB sync/ServiceNow: problem with SerialNumber for cmdb_ci_lb class. For details, see (DRUD1-32010).
  8. CMDB sync/ServiceNow: NetworkDevice_Host_linkage dos not create relationships for edge connectivty. For Details see (DRUD1-34817).
  9. CMDB sync/ServiceNow: sync mapping does not consider pattern publisher to set manufacturer. For Details see (DRUD1-34794).
  10. CMDB sync: error in extension fixed. For Details see (DRUD1_32628).
  11. CMDB sync: mapped enumeration fields are reversed in CMDB (Other and Unknow). For Details see (DRUD135435).
  12. CMDB sync: allow a default ManufacturerName in the CMDB mapping for SIs that do not have a "publisher". For Details see (DRDC1-17428).

Changes to discovery commands

Discovery commands are unchanged in Product Content 2022-Jan-1.

Model changes

  1. Taxonomy has been updated to support Kubernetes Ingress Services relationships. (DRDC1-17385).
