Product Content TKU 2022-Dec-1

Technology Knowledge Update TKU 2022-Dec-1 contains additional product content for the BMC Discovery 12.0, 20.08, 21.05, 21.3, 22.1, and 22.2 series.

Product content updates require appliance restart

This TKU release contains product content additions. The appliance is restarted when product content is added to the update. You are allowed to prevent the restart, though if you do so, none of the knowledge content will be installed.

Feature updates

The following features and enhancements are introduced within the scope of this release: 

  1. CLOUD/GCP: GCP Organizations are now discovered. For details, see (DRDC1-19757).
  2. CLOUD/GCP: We have added the new GCP region: "Europe Southwest 1 (Madrid)". For details, see (DRDC1-20327).
  3. CLOUD/GCP: Public Cloud IPs for GCP. For details, see (DRDC1-20107).
  4. CLOUD/AWS: AWS S3 pattern has been optimized. For details, see (DRDC1-20189).
  5. CLOUD: Various cloud patterns have been optimized. See below the details in the 'Defects' section. 
  6. CLOUD: Tags for AWS Accounts, GCP Organisations, Azure Subscriptions are now synced to the CMDB (CloudManagementGroup → BMC_Tags). For details, see (DRDC1-20205).
  7. NETWORK DEVICES: Dell iDRACs now work with Basic Auth with Redfish protocol. For details, see (DRDC1-20267).
  8. NETWORK DEVICES: Fortinet Load Balancer are now discovered via REST APIs. For details, see (DRDC1-19469).
  9. NETWORK DEVICES: HP Switches network interface VLAN Ids attribute has been added. For details, see (DRDC1-17849).
  10. CERTIFICATES: Certificates for iDRAC are now discovered. For details, see (DRDC1-19302).
  11. PRODUCT: Domain field has been added for HPE OneView REST API credentials. For details, see (DRDC1-20232).
  12. PRODUCT: Rest API Queries for Kubernetes Pods, Deployments, ReplicaSets, and Services are now split by namespaces. For details, see (DRDC1-19386).
  13. STORAGE: Dell EMC PowerVault storage system has been added (new credential and heuristic). For details, see Dell-EMC-PowerVault-Storage-Systems-REST.

Defects

The following defects were fixed within the scope of this release: 

  1. CLOUD/AWS: Fix AWS Amazon Keyspaces pattern issues. For details, see (DRDC1-20324).
  2. CLOUD/AWS: API "AWS.SSM.GetDiscoverableInstances" is failing with the error "Failed to perform request: Vpcid." For details, see (DRDC1-19954).
  3. CLOUD/AZURE: ECA errors during Azure scan in ResourceGroup and AzureStorageFiles patterns. For details, see (DRDC1-19314).
  4. CLOUD/AWS: RuleError on rule tpl_InferFileSystems_body_2 due to: Error in action inference.build_all -- TypeError: 'NoneType' object is not iterable". For details, see (DRDC1-19971).
  5. CLOUD/AWS: AmazonWebServices.Keyspaces.InferKeyspaces Pattern Errors. For details, see (DRDC1-20251).


Changes to discovery commands

Discovery commands are unchanged in Product Content 2022-Dec-1.

Model changes

  • Taxonomy has been updated to maintain added vlan_ids attribute for the NetworkInterface node. For details, see (DRDC1-17849).
