Product Content TKU 2022-Aug-1

Technology-Knowledge-Update-TKU-2022-Aug-1 contains the following additional product content for the BMC Discovery 12.0, 20.08, 21.05, 21.3, 22.1, and 22.2 series.

Warning

Product content updates require appliance restart

This TKU release contains product content additions. When product content is added, the appliance is restarted as part of the update. You are given the opportunity to prevent the restart, though if you do so, none of the knowledge content will be installed.

Feature updates

The following features were updated or introduced in Product Content 2022-Aug-1: 

  1. STORAGE: Added support for the discovery of Hitachi E Series systems (VSP E590/E790/E990) via REST API. For details, see (DRDC1-18629).
  2. STORAGE: New credential type SANnav REST API. For details, see (DRDC1-18872).
  3. PRODUCT: Added additional attributes for OpenShift Discovery. For details, see (DRDC1-19045).
  4. PRODUCT: Enhanced ESXi tags discovery. For details, see (DRDC1-19319).
  5. CLOUD/AZURE:  Added  support for Azure Function Apps. For details, see (DRDC1-19125).
  6. PRODUCT: boot_id and machine_id attributes have been added to Host node. For details, see (DRDC1-19328).

Defects

The following defects were fixed in Product Content 2022-Aug-1: 

  1. PRODUCT: IBM cloud discovery fails when the credential is set to use HashiCorp vault. For details see (DRDC1-19403).
  2. PRODUCT: Credentials using External 3rd Party Vaults such as SSH appear to use a nonselected lookup by default. For details (see DRUD1-37903).
  3. PRODUCT: Cyberark UI: 'cyberark.rest.cert.set' flag no longer has a value after test. For details, see (DRUD1-37977).
  4. PRODUCT: Upgrade to 12.5.0.1 from 12.0/12.1 with August TKU breaks outpost" is complete. For details, see (DRUD1-38298).
  5. PRODUCT: Visualization does not display the relationship from cluster to BAI. For details, see (DRDC1-19339).
  6. PRODUCT: WPAR partitions are merged between themselves and root one because wpar id is not part of partition_id. For details, see (DRDC1-19354).
  7. PRODUCT: Classified the IGEL system as a client device. For details, see (DRDC1-19060).
  8. PRODUCT: Storage model improvement - HyperFlex Storage Systems. For details, see (DRDC1-19370).
  9. NETWORK DEVICES: Multi-tenant company on NetworkDevices active/passive mode. For details, see (DRDC1-19409).
  10. PRODUCT: Typo in Taxonomy. For details, see (DRUD1-38124).


Changes to discovery commands

Discovery commands are unchanged in Product Content 2022-Aug-1.

Model changes

  • Taxonomy has been updated to support boot_id and machine_id attributes for the Host node. For details, see (DRDC1-19328).
  • Taxonomy has been updated to support tags attribute for the Host node. For details, see (DRDC1-19319).
  • Taxonomy has been updated to support creation_time and resource_version for Namespace and SoftwarePod nodes. For details, see (DRDC1-19328).
  • Taxonomy has been updated to support container_state for SoftwareContainer node. For details, see (DRDC1-19328).
  • CMDB sync pattern has been updated to support relationships between BMC_Tag CI and Host_ComputerSystem. For details, see (DRDC1-19319).
