discovery.lookupAddresses

discovery.lookupAddresses(target, name)

Performs a DNS lookup on the supplied DNS resolvable name and returns a list of IP addresses. Finds the DiscoveryAccess from the target node and attaches the list of IP addresses to it.

The target is a DDD node or a device node (Host, ManagedDevice, NetworkDevice, and so on), and name is the DNS resolvable name. If no IP addresses are found it returns an empty list. If an error occurs the discovery.lookupAddresses function returns None.

The DNS lookup is performed from the appliance or BMC Discovery Outpost rather than the discovery target.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
