Configuring name resolution settings

You cannot configure DNS domains or servers while DHCP is enabled.

To configure name resolutions settings:

  1. From the main menu, click the Administration icon.
    The
    Administration page opens.
  2. In the Appliance section, select Configuration > Name Resolution.
  3. In Search Domains, enter a list of domains to be searched. There is no maximum number of domains you can search, but if you specify more search domains, the name resolution performance might be impacted.
  4. In Name Servers, enter the IP address of the name server.
Up to 3 space-separated IP addresses can specified.
  5. From the Time Out drop-down, select the required time out for DNS requests.
This can be any value between 1 and 10 seconds. The default is 5 seconds. Larger values can affect Discovery performance and are not recommended.
  6. From the Retries drop-down, select the required number of retries after DNS look up failure.
This can be any value between 1 and 5. The default is 2. Larger values can affect Discovery performance and are not recommended.
  7. Click Apply to save the changes.

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
