The BMC Discovery Outpost and Windows proxies are components that provide discovery capabilities.
BMC Discovery Outpost
BMC Discovery Outpost is the on-premises component of BMC Helix Discovery (SaaS) and communicates with the cloud component over an always-encrypted connection that is sent over HTTPS. When a new version is available, you are notified and can choose to have the Outpost update installed automatically when it is idle. We strongly recommend that you retain the default, automatic update behavior.
BMC Discovery Windows Proxies
BMC Discovery Windows Proxies handle the discovery of Windows systems from the on-premises BMC Discovery appliance.
