Working with logs for Cloud Cost Control
This section describes how to collect and check relevant logs.
You can also use the logGrabber utility to collect these logs. For details on logGrabber, see the knowledge article number 000244652 (Support logon ID required).
To review Data Provider Service logs
- Using command line:
- Log in to the host computer on which you have installed the Application Server that is running the Data Hub component.
- At the shell prompt, log in as the user that you specified during installation (example: cpit).
- Navigate to the <base_direcory>/datahub/log directory (example: $CPITBASE/datahub/log).
- Check data-prv* logs.

- Using the UI:
- Log in to the TrueSight Capacity Optimization console.
- Navigate to Administration > SYSTEM > Status and select the Data Hub component.
- Click the API Providers - Data Provider Service backend service.
- Click Show log.

To review Cost Estimation Service logs
- Using command line:
- Log in to the host computer on which you have installed the Application Server that is running the Data Hub component.
- At the shell prompt, log in as the user that you specified during installation (example: cpit).
- Navigate to the <base_direcory>/datahub/log directory (example: $CPITBASE/datahub/log).
- Check cost-est* logs.

- Using the UI:
- Log in to the TrueSight Capacity Optimization console.
- Navigate to Administration > SYSTEM > Status and select the Data Hub component.
- Click the Core Services - Cost Estimation Service backend service.
- Click Show log.

Enable diagnostic logs for Cloud migration
- Log in to the TrueSight Capacity Optimization console.
- Navigate to Administration > SYSTEM > Status and select the Data Hub component.
- Click the Core Services - Cost Estimation Service backend service.
- Click Enable cloud migration diagnostic logs.

When these diagnostics logs are enabled, you can collect them using the logGrabber utility after you run the Cloud Migration Simulation.
To review TrueSight Presentation Server logs
- Log in to the host computer on which you have installed TrueSight Presentation Server.
- At the command prompt, navigate to the <Presentation Server installation directory>/TrueSightPServer/truesightpserver/log directory.
- Check coRest.log, RestServiceAudit.log, rest-access.log, TrueSightUserAccount.log, and TrueSight.log logs.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
