Assessing the business spending across your multi-cloud environments

TrueSight Cloud Cost Control provides visibility and control over your multi-cloud infrastructure expenses. Regardless of whether your infrastructure is on-premises or hosted by one or more public cloud providers (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud), you can gain visibility into your current and projected costs.

The different pages of TrueSight Cloud Cost Control provide you with the cost visibility based on different dimensions such as cloud provider, cloud service, business service, and server. You can further drill down into the dimensions to perform detailed analysis and assessment. You can easily track and analyze infrastructure costs, identify overspending, and automatically get the monthly and yearly projected costs.

Prerequisites

Ensure that the administrator has already completed the following prerequisite tasks:

Install TrueSight Cloud Cost Control.
Configure data collection to import the public cloud and on-premises infrastructure data. For more information, see Collecting-data.
Ensure users are authorized to access TrueSight Cloud Cost Control.

To assess the business spending across your multi-cloud environments

Use the tabs on the TrueSight Cloud Cost Control user interface to get a single view of your on-premises and public cloud infrastructure expenditures and utilization and analyze the costs by specific dimensions, as follows:

Access TrueSight Cloud Cost Control.
Analyze costs by any or all of the following dimensions:

1. Access TrueSight Cloud Cost Control

Log on to the TrueSight console and click Cloud Cost Control.
The Costs tab of the Summary page is displayed.

Analyze costs by cloud provider

Use the Summary > Costs page to review and analyze the monthly and yearly cloud spending and trends per cloud service provider.

The Summary > Costs page enables you to:

Get a single-pane view and compare the monthly and yearly costs by cloud provider.
Easily understand and compare the projected costs for running your infrastructure across public clouds and on-premise infrastructure.
Understand costing trends and identify cloud providers with the highest costs and plan for change and migration to a lower cost cloud.

Analyze costs by cloud service

Click the Cloud Services tab.

Use the Cloud Services page to break down cloud costs by cloud services to get a quick summary and to perform a detailed analysis of your costs by cloud service.

The Cloud Services page enables you to:

Identify and analyze the cloud services that need to be optimized.
Analyze and investigate the cost of a cloud service.
View detailed bill (bill line items) for every cloud service.
View and compare the monthly cloud costs by cloud service category and cloud service and all the resources that a cloud service uses.

Analyze costs by business service

Click the Business Services tab.

Use the Business Services page to review and analyze the infrastructure operational expenses of the business services. The page provides a quick summary view of the infrastructure costs. You can drill down into a specific business service to track the monthly and forecasted annual costs, ensuring operational budgets are adhered to.

The Business Services page enables you to:

Identify and analyze the business services that need to be optimized.

View detailed bill (bill line items) for every business service.
View and compare the monthly cloud costs by business service and all the resources that a business service uses.

Analyze costs by server

Click the Servers tab.

Use the Servers page to review and analyze a summary of the monthly expenses per server. You can further analyze the cost details of a specific server.
