Collecting data

After you install TrueSight Cloud Cost Control, you must configure data collection before using the product features. With TrueSight Cloud Cost Control, you can analyze the current and future costs and utilization of your multi-cloud infrastructure based on data that is extracted from various data sources.

TrueSight Cloud Cost Control supports the following data sources and technologies:

Public cloud

On-premises

  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Google Cloud Platform
  • Hyper-V
  • KVM
  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV)
  • Standalone or Virtual Node
  • vSphere
  • Xen

Data from these sources is collected by using ETL modules, which are based on the Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) technology. You must configure the required ETL modules and run them to collect data. The collected data is stored in the Capacity Optimization database.
