Regions page in the Openstack view_24.2
he Regions page in the OpenStack view displays information about the region, an infrastructure segregation that is used for separating geographic areas. It lets you view capacity and decision support metrics at the region level in OpenStack views.
You can access this page in the TrueSight console using one of the following ways:
- Select Capacity > Views > Cloud > OpenStack and click the Regions tab
- In the OpenStack > Cloud page, navigate to the Related Information panel and click the Regions link.
The following figure shows the Regions view page displaying region related information for a selected cloud.

Viewing the OpenStack Regions table
The Regions table lists all regions of the OpenStack view contained in the selected cloud.
Each row corresponds to the OpenStack region and displays the following information. By default, some columns are hidden. You can show or hide columns using the action menuSorting a table in the TrueSight console .
that is located next to the Regions table title. For more information, seeRegions table: Description of columns
Metric Label | Description | Statistical Type | Metrics |
---|---|---|---|
Region | Name of the Region. Clicking on one of the regions in this column takes you to the region detail view. | Last value | NAME |
CPU [GHz] | Total CPU capacity of the hypervisors in the Region. | Last value | CPU_TOTAL_MHZ |
CPU Utili [ %] | Total CPU utilization of the hypervisors in the Region. | 95th percentile | CPU_UTIL |
Memory [GB] | Total Memory Capacity of the hypervisors in the Region. | Last value | TOTAL_REAL_MEM |
Memory Util [%] | Total Memory Utilization of the hypervisors in the Region. | 95th percentile | MEM_UTIL |
Datastore | Total Datastore capacity of the storage attached to the hypervisors in the Region. | Last value | TOTAL_DSTORE_SIZE |
Datastore Util [ %] | Total Datastore utilization of the storage attached to the hypervisors in the Region. | 95th percentile | TOTAL_DSTORE_UTIL |
Ephemeral Size [GB] | Total capacity of ephemeral storage, measured in gigabytes. | Last value | TOTAL_EPHEMERAL_DISK_SIZE |

Powered On VMs | Total number of powered On VMs in the hypervisors in the Region | 95th percentile | GM_ON_NUM |
Spare VMs | Estimated number of additional VMs that can be placed in the Region, calculated based on the remaining CPU, Memory and Storage capacity. For more information, see Spare VM calculation. | Computed by AFS using total capacity and 95th utilization of CPU, Memory and Storage | IND_SPARE_VM |
Spare VM Basis | Specifies the basis for calculating the number of additional VMs that can be placed in the Region: TYPICAL or CUSTOM. For more information, see Spare VM calculation in Recalculating the spare VM basis. | NA | TYPICAL or CUSTOM |
Days to Saturation | The projected amount of time before one of the resources (CPU, MEMORY, STORAGE) in the Region runs out of available capacity. It displays a number of days to saturation for the least available resource. | Computed by AFS using total capacity and 95th utilization of CPU, Memory and Storage | IND_DAYS_TO_SATURATION |
Bottleneck Resource | Name of the resource that has either saturated or will saturate in the next 30 days. Bottleneck resource can be CPU, MEMORY or STORAGE. The field is blank if none of the resources has saturated, or will saturate. | Computed by AFS using total capacity and 95th utilization of CPU, Memory and Storage | IND_BNECK_RESOURCE |
CPU Used [GHz] | Total CPU usage of the hypervisors in the Region. | Last value | CPU_UTILMHZ |
CPU Trend [% ] | Daily growth rate of CPU utilization of the region. | 95th percentile | CPU_UTIL |

Viewing detailed information about a region
After you click on the region in the Region column, the details for that region are displayed in the Region Details page. The Region details page displays the following information:
Region Details table
Section or Panel | Description |
---|---|
General details section | General details, such as region name, type, and a number of elements within it are displayed. |
Related Information panel | Clicking the links in the Related Information panel displays the other information related to the selected region.
|
Tags panel | Displays tags, if any, that are associated with the region. You can add tags to the region using the action menu Working with tag filters. that is located next to Tags. For more information, see |
Summary tab | The Summary tab, that is displayed by default, displays details for the selected region in a horizontal summary table, as well as charts. Analysis charts: Core metrics for the selected entity are displayed as analysis charts, depending on available data. A link at the bottom of each chart allows you to view the data for a specific resource type. You can download, save an offline copy, annotate, and print the charts. For more information, see Managing charts. |
Configuration Details tab | The Configuration Details tab displays the configuration matrix for the selected region. |

Using data filters and other controls in tables
You can sort and filter the information that is displayed in tables to suit your need. For instance, you can show or hide columns, export the data to Excel, select a different cloud, clear the selected cloud, and so on.
For more information, see Sorting a table in the TrueSight console and Using filtering options in the TrueSight console.
