Host Aggregates Page in the OpenStack view_24.2
Host Aggregate is an OpenStack entity. You can partition a single Compute deployment into logical groups; for example, into multiple groups of hosts that share common resources like storage and network, or have a special property such as trusted computing hardware.
The Host Aggregates page in the OpenStack view displays information for all the host aggregates available in the selected cloud.
You can access this page in the TrueSight console using one of the following ways:
- Select Capacity > Views > Cloud > OpenStack and click the Host Aggregates tab
- In the OpenStack > Cloud page, navigate to the Related Information panel and click the Host Aggregates link.
The following figure shows the Host Aggregates view page displaying the host aggregate related information.

Viewing the OpenStack Host Aggregates table
The Host Aggregates table lists the following information for each host aggregate in the selected cloud. By default, some columns are hidden. You can show or hide columns using the action menuSorting a table in the TrueSight console.
that is located next to the Host Aggregates table title. For more information, seeHost Aggregates table: Description of columns

For more information, see Spare VM calculation in Recalculating the spare VM basis. | Computed by AFS using total capacity and 95th utilization of CPU, Memory and Storage | IND_SPARE_VM |
Spare VM Basis | Custom or Typical is displayed. An average VM for cluster based on the past 30 days is used for Typical, whereas Custom indicates that custom VM data (Average utilization of CPU, Memory, and Datastore ) is specified. To edit the value that has been set, click the value displayed in this column. For more information, see Spare VM calculation in Recalculating the spare VM basis. | NA | TYPICAL or CUSTOM |
Days to Saturation | The projected amount of time before one of the resources (CPU, MEMORY, STORAGE) in the host aggregate runs out of available capacity. Displays the number of days to saturation for the least available resource. | Computed by AFS using total capacity and 95th utilization of CPU, Memory and Storage | IND_DAYS_TO_SATURATION |
Bottleneck Resource | Name of the resource that has either saturated or will saturate in the next 30 days. Bottleneck resource can be CPU, MEMORY or STORAGE. The field is blank if none of the resources has saturated, or will saturate. | Computed by AFS using total capacity and 95th utilization of CPU, Memory and Storage | IND_BNECK_RESOURCE |
For more information on the Days to Saturation and other indicator parameters used for metric computations in this view, see Indicators.
Viewing detailed information about a Host Aggregate
After you click on the host aggregate in the Name column, the details for that host aggregate are displayed in the Host Aggregate Details page:
Host Aggregate Details table

Using data filters and other controls in tables
You can sort and filter the information that is displayed in tables to suit your need. For instance, you can show or hide columns, export the data to Excel, select a different cloud and region, clear the selected cloud and region, and so on.
For more information, see Sorting a table in the TrueSight console and Using filtering options in the TrueSight console.
