Cloud page in the Openstack view_24.2
The Cloud page in the OpenStack view displays an overview of a cloud and its resources. It also displays information such as CPU, memory, datastore utilization, cloud capacity summary, number of VMs, and detailed analysis charts for each subsystem. It also contains information about set thresholds for the currently selected Cloud.
To access this page, in the TrueSight console, select Capacity > Views > Cloud > OpenStack. By default, the Cloud page is displayed.
After you select a cloud from the Clouds list, the Cloud tab is refreshed. You can select a different cloud using the action menuthat is located next to the selected cloud name.

After you select a cloud from the Clouds list, the following cloud details are displayed:
Cloud details table
Section or Panel | Description |
|---|---|
General details section | General cloud details, such as cloud name, type, and a number of elements within it are displayed. The cloud type is Cloud - OpenStack. |
Related Information panel | Clicking the links in the Related Information panel displays the other information related to the selected cloud.
|
Tags panel | Displays tags, if any, that are associated with the cloud. You can add tags to the cloud using the action menu that is located next to Tags. For more information, see Working with tag filters . |
Summary tab | The Summary tab, that is displayed by default, displays details for the selected cloud in a horizontal summary table, as well as charts. Analysis charts: Core metrics for the selected entity are displayed as analysis charts, depending on available data. A link at the bottom of each chart allows you to view the data for a specific resource type. You can download, save an offline copy, annotate, and print the charts. For more information, see Managing charts. |
Configuration Details tab | The Configuration Details tab displays the configuration matrix for the selected cloud. |
Summary table
Metric Label | Description | Statistical Type | Metrics |
|---|---|---|---|
CPU Utili [%] | Total CPU utilization of the hypervisors in the cloud. | 95th percentile | CPU_UTIL |
Memory Util [%] | Total Memory Utilization of the hypervisors in the cloud. | 95th percentile | MEM_UTIL |
Datastore Util [%] | Total Datastore utilization of the hypervisors in the cloud. | 95th percentile | TOTAL_DSTORE_UTIL |
CPU Overcommit Ratio | Ratio of a number of vCPUs of powered on VMs to that of the CPU cores available in the hypervisors in the cloud. | Computed based on last values | VCPU_ON_NUM, CPU_NUM |
vCPU Residual Capacity | Total amount of vCPU residual capacity. | Computed based on last values | VCPU_RESIDUAL |
Powered On VMs | Total number of powered On VMs in the cloud | 95th percentile | GM_ON_NUM |
Spare VMs | Estimated number of additional VMs that can be placed in the cloud, calculated based on the remaining CPU, Memory and Storage capacity. For more information, see Spare VM calculation. | Computed by AFS using total capacity and 95th utilization of CPU, Memory and Storage | IND_SPARE_VM |
Bottleneck Resource | Name of the resource that has either saturated or will saturate in the next 30 days. Bottleneck resource can be CPU, MEMORY or STORAGE. The field is blank if none of the resources has saturated, or will saturate. | Computed by AFS using total capacity and 95th utilization of CPU, Memory and Storage | IND_BNECK_RESOURCE |
Days to Saturation | The projected amount of time before one of the resources (CPU, MEMORY, STORAGE) in the cloud runs out of available capacity. It displays a number of days to saturation for the least available resource. | Computed by AFS using total capacity and 95th utilization of CPU, Memory and Storage | IND_DAYS_TO_SATURATION |
For more information on the Days to Saturation and other indicator parameters used for metric computations in this view, see Indicators.
