Mapping of metrics between BMC Helix Operations Management and BMC Helix Continuous Optimization

The below sections provide information about mapping of configuration and performance metrics between BMC Helix Operations Management and BMC Helix Continuous Optimization for Linux, Solaris, AIX, Windows, and Light Weight Protocol platforms.

Configuration metrics for Linux

The following table provides the mapping of configuration metrics between BMC Helix Operations Management and BMC Helix Continuous Optimization for Linux operating system.

Information
Important

Starting with PATROL Agent 22.4.12, configuration metrics for Linux are collected only when the Collect OS Configuration option is enabled in the policy.
This change applies only to Linux. Solaris and AIX continue to collect configuration metrics by default.

Steps to enable Linux configuration metrics

Follow these steps in your monitoring policy tool (Helix/TrueSight):

  1. Create or edit a policy and set Platform = Linux.
  2. Under Monitor Profile, select Linux Default.
  3. Under Monitor Type, select Linux KM Configuration.
  4. Enable the checkbox: ✔ Collect OS Configuration.
  5. Save and deploy the policy to the target Linux Patrol Agents.
  6. After deployment, allow the agent a few polling cycles (or restart the agent if required by your change control) for data to appear.
