Interfaces Forecast page in the Network View
The Interfaces Forecast page forecasts the device interface utilization and provides trend and days to crash estimations to highlight the most critical interfaces, computed based on the last 30 days. Both input and output traffic direction is considered and the worst direction is presented (i.e. the direction with the lowest days to crash value). The following figure shows an example of this page.
The Interfaces Forecast portlet presents the following information.
Field | Description |
|---|---|
Device | Name of the device |
Interface | Name of the interface |
Role | Role of the device, according to the assigned tags |
Type | The type of the CO entity |
HW Vendor | Vendor of the device |
HW Model | Model of the device |
Location | Location of the device |
Capacity | Interface capacity in bps |
Utilization Avg | Daily average utilization of the interface (worst direction) |
Utilization Max | Daily peak utilization of the interface (worst direction) |
Trend Avg | Trend of the daily average utilization, in terms of utilization / day (worst direction) |
Trend Max | Trend of the daily peak utilization, in terms of utilization / day (worst direction) |
Days to crash | Estimated number of days to device saturation, considering the daily peak trend (worst direction). If the days to crash are greater than 90 days, 90 days is presented as value |
Bottleneck Direction | Shows the worst direction, that is the direction with the lowest days to crash (IN or OUT) |
