Selecting statistic, output options, and namespace

This topic describes how to select statistics, output options, and namespace for a time forecasting model scenario, which is part of Adding-a-time-forecasting-model-scenario. To access these tabs, from the Add a new scenario page, click Advanced.

To select statistics

On the Statistic tab, select the statistics from the available options. For details on statistics, see Statistics.

• Select default statistics: Uses the default statistic of the selected metric in the model. This option is selected by default. 
• Select base statistics: When you select this option, the Base statistic list is available. Select a statistic from the list. The Default option in the base statistics list is the same as Select default statistics.

• Specify a statistic for each series: This option is available only if the time forecasting model is based on a series of metrics. Select the required statistic from the base statistic list for each series.

  
  

To define output options

On the Output Options tab, configure the following properties:

• Show prediction bands: Select True if you want prediction bands to be displayed. 
• Show forecast only in the future: Select True if you want to show forecast only in the future.
• Show only saturated resources in results: Select if you want to only display saturated resources in results. If you select Yes, a note at the bottom of the chart informs you that only saturated resources are displayed.
• Group results by system or business driver: Select Yes if you want to group the results by system and business drivers.
• Generate outputs chart: Select the resources for which to generate output charts:
  • For every resource
  • For none of the resources
  • Only for resources violating threshold
• Select output columns: Click Edit to activate the selector. Under Available items, select the columns you want to display and click ADD to add them under Selected items. Click Apply. The selected output columns are listed.

To select namespace

On the Namespace Selection tab, configure the namespace from the available options:

• Automatic: Select if you want BMC Helix Continuous Optimization to automatically select the appropriate namespace for each metric. For details, see Namespaces.
• Manual selection for each metric: For each of the metrics listed in subsequent rows within this tab, manually select the namespaces that you want the scenario to access the metric from.
