25.1.02

Analyze VMware power consumption metrics

Get insights into the power consumption of virtual hosts and virtual clusters by using VMware vCenter Extractor Service and VMware vCenter ESX Server History Extractor.

Learn more about these metrics in Lookup information and metrics for VMware ETLs.

Retrieve the cluster name for Nutanix entities

Get the cluster name for a Nutanix host, virtual machine, and storage pool by using the Nutanix - Prism API Extractor.

Learn more about this metric in Entities, lookup information, metrics, and API calls for Nutanix - Prism API Extractor.

Exclude virtual NICs from the Gateway VIS file parser

Filter the unique virtual network interfaces (NICs) that are reported on Linux computers by using the bpa.extract.skip.nic.list property in the BMC - TrueSight Capacity Optimization Gateway VIS files parser ETL.

Learn how to use this property in BMC - TrueSight Capacity Optimization Gateway VIS files parser.

Filter entities in the AWS ETL

Filter auto-scale groups, instances, and volumes that are not required by using the following regular expression-based properties in the Amazon Web Services - AWS API Extractor:

  • extract.aws.blacklist.regex.volumes
  • extract.aws.blacklist.regex.instances
  • extract.aws.blacklist.regex.asg

Learn more about these properties in Amazon Web Services - AWS API Extractor.

Generate reports by using the dashboard definitions from BMC Helix Dashboards

Use the Helix Dashboard Report wizard to generate reports for selected domains by using predefined dashboard definitions that include all the visualizations and configurations you need for your reports.

Additionally, use the Report Recipient Lists UI page and API to efficiently set up and manage report recipient lists at a global level, simplifying recipient management across your organization.

Use project tags and hierarchies for Nutanix ETL

Use the Nutanix - Prism API Extractor for AHV to collect project information based on the tags that you apply to virtual machines. You can also create shared and independent project hierarchies by using the applied tags. This functionality helps you to organize and structure your virtual machines effectively.

Learn more about this enhancement in Nutanix-Prism-API-Extractor-for-AHV.

Additional time filter in the Summary data mart wizard

When creating the summary data mart, use the Last complete 1 month / 3 months time filter to display data for the last complete 1 month or 3 months in the custom view.

For details, see Creating-a-summary-data-mart-for-a-custom-view.

Support for aggregating configuration metrics in the VMware vCenter ETL

Similar to performance metrics, the VMware vCenter ETL reports configuration metrics data for the aggregation period that you specify in the ETL configuration.

To learn about specifying the aggregation period, see VMware-vCenter-Extractor-Service.

Specify the Last value statistics for performance metrics in the Summary Data Mart wizard

Specify the Last value statistics for the performance metrics, along with the configuration (string and numeric) metrics, in the Summary Data Mart wizard. This helps you to view the latest value available for these metrics in the summary data marts and custom views. For details, see Creating-a-summary-data-mart-for-a-custom-view and Using-the-advanced-editor-of-the-summary-data-mart-wizard.

Enhanced Kubernetes view

The Kubernetes view includes the following enhancements:

  • Columns with percentage data on all pages of the view display horizontal bars instead of plain numbers.
  • Statistics for all configuration metrics are set to the Last value.

For details, see the following topics:
