As an administrator, configure the maximum number of charts to be displayed in the analyses and models globally so that capacity planners can save the time required to customize each analysis or model manually. For details, see Configuring-the-global-settings.

Support for the CPU_READY_UNNORMALIZED metric in VMware vCenter Extractor Service

The VMware vCenter Extractor Service ETL can import the CPU_READY_UNNORMALIZED metric for virtual machines. For details, see Lookup-information-and-metrics-for-VMware-ETLs.

Enhanced Storage All-in-One ETL

The Storage All-in-One ETL includes the following enhancements:

• Support to import capacity data from Dell EMC PowerProtect DD (REST) storage systems.
• Support to import the Disk Utilization Percentage by Disk (BYDISK_UTIL) performance metric for HP Primera (WBEM).
• Enhanced computation of the following HP Primera (WBEM) metrics to match the values displayed in Infosight:
  • ST_AVAILABLE_CAPACITY
  • ST_AVAILABLE_FOR_STORAGE_POOLS
  • ST_AVAILABLE_IN_STORAGE_POOLS
  • ST_CAPACITY
  • ST_CONSUMED_CAPACITY
  • ST_SIZE

Support for custom structure tables for versatile data hosting

BMC Helix Continuous Optimization supports custom structure tables for versatile data hosting. These tables are also referred to as buffer tables and are designed to accommodate generic records with custom attributes. They are used to import and enrich a wide range of data without the need for predefined metrics. 

The example use cases of custom structure table include:

• Simplifying the CMDB integration by importing raw data from CMDB sources without burdening the target database with complex queries.
• Storing data that can later be processed and imported by using SQL extractors to extract metrics and create relations. 
• Importing any non-time series data with generic details, such as host name, OS version, data center, facility, and other hardware inventory.

Exclude Oracle views from Oracle - Enterprise Manager extractor

Exclude selected Oracle views from the Oracle - Enterprise Manager extractor while importing data by using the extract.oem.exclude.views.list property. For details, see Oracle-Enterprise-Manager-extractor.

Support for NetApp StorageGRID (REST) storage systems in Storage All-in-One Extractor Service

The Storage All-in-One Extractor Service uses the NetApp StorageGRID Management REST API to import capacity data from NetApp StorageGRID Storage systems. For details, see Storage-All-in-One-Extractor-Service.

Support for proxy with the Migration tool for enhanced security

For an additional layer of security, run the migration tool on TrueSight Capacity Optimization by using the proxy server to avoid direct connection from the Application Server to the internet. For details, see Running-the-migration-tool.

Add logo and branding to reports

As an administrator, define the default look for reports generated by using analyses and models or report templates so that these reports include the logo and branding of your company. This global customization saves the time required for capacity planners to customize each report manually. For details, see Adding-logo-and-branding-to-reports.

Configure the Axis and Thresholds settings in the BMC Time Series Forecast visualization plug-in

In BMC Helix Dashboards, configure the following settings in the BMC Time Series Forecast visualization plug-in:

• Axis settings to visualize how the x-axis and y-axis are rendered.

• Thresholds settings to visualize and analyze how the metric behaves relative to a specified threshold value. For details, see Visualizing predictive time series data in panels.

Manage the capacity of OpenStack resources with an out-of-the-box view

Use the OpenStack view to analyze and manage the capacity of OpenStack resources in your infrastructure. This view contains the key capacity metrics and charts for OpenStack availability zones, host aggregates, hypervisors, and tenants. For details, see OpenStack-view.

Set the maximum memory to be used by the collector on Solaris

On Solaris computers, set the MAX_MEMORY_USAGE setting in the Collect.cfg file for the collector. This setting indicates the maximum amount of memory that can be used by the collector. For details, see Collect configuration file.

Support for IBM DS8000 (REST) storage systems in Storage All-in-One Extractor Service
