Configuring the Process Runner task

Use the Process Runner task to run a set of processes with associated configurable parameters on a scheduled basis. This task can be scheduled and run similar to other system tasks. The Process Runner task is generally added to a task chain. For more information, see Configuring-the-Task-chain

For example, when you schedule a task to run an ETL daily, you can add a prerequisite to check if a file exists in a specific folder. The ETL task will run only when the prerequisite condition is fulfilled.

To configure an existing Process Runner task

  1. Navigate to Administration > ETL & SYSTEM TASKS > System tasks. In the System tasks table, click the appropriate Process Runner task name. The task details page is displayed.
  2. In the Run configurations section, click Add run configuration or Edit edit_simulation_icon.png to edit the existing configuration.
  3. To update the general properties, in the General configuration section, specify a name, deploy status or environment, and description.
  4. Click the Process runner execution configuration tab and add or update the following parameters:
    • Process name list: A list of processes separated by a semicolon. For example, process1;process2.
    • Notify on error: Select yes or no depending on whether you want a notification to be sent on the occurrence of an error in the external process run by this task. If you select yes, then an email notification is sent to the configured users.
