Stopping the Agent from the command line


You can stop Agent on the managed node by issuing the best1agent_stop command from the command line.

  1. To stop Agent, do one of the following:
    • On UNIX, if BEST1_HOME is set to /usr/adm/best1_23.1.00, type:

      % $BEST1_HOME/bgs/scripts/best1agent_stop -b $BEST1_HOME
    • On Windows, if the Agent is installed at C:\Program Files\BMC Software, navigate to the following directory and double-click bgsagent_stop.exe:

      C:\Program Files\BMC Software\Patrol3\BEST1\23.1.00\bgs\bin
  2. Verify the output:
    • On UNIX:

      executing /usr/adm/best1_23.1.00/bgs/bin/bgsagent_stop -b /usr/adm/best1_23.1.00

      Trying to connect to Agent on node systemname using port 6767
      Connection made - sending stop Agent message
      Waiting for Agent to stop .
      Agent stopped successfully
    • On Windows:

      Trying to connect to Agent on node systemname using port 6767
      Connection made - sending stop Agent message
      Waiting for Agent to stop .
      Agent stopped successfully
