Creating and editing a queuing network model
This topic describes how to create and edit a queuing network model (QNM). For details on queuing network models, see Calibrating-queuing-network-models.
To create a queuing network model
- In Workspace, click Domains, Services & Applications > domainName > Works folder.
- Click Add > Add model. The model creation wizard is displayed.
- On the Model type page, select Predict saturation based on business drivers growth (QUEUING NETWORK MODEL), and click Next.
On the Correlation analysis page, select the Performance vs. Load analysis on which the model will be based, and click Next.
- On the Resource types to be included in the model page, select the system resources, and click Next.
- On the Service demand bounds page, select one of the following options for the output, and click Next:
- Show only average service demands.
- Show average service demands and bounds: Enables you to plot bounds through average, optimistic or pessimistic estimation techniques from the Estimate limit using list.
- On the Name page, type a name and description for the model, and click Next.
A default name based on the selected metrics, is displayed. You can change it as required. You can also clickto select the parameters you want to include in the model name.
- On the Summary page, click Finish.
The Queueing Network Model's detail page is displayed, listing the entities that the model takes into account.
- Systems: Lists all systems and their resources covered by the model. The Calibration option in the Systems table allows you to apply a calibration factor to improve the response time estimation using the results of a load testing. For more information, see Model calibration.
- Business Drivers: Lists all business drivers that will be analyzed.
- Prediction scenarios: Lists all available scenarios and allows you to add new scenarios.
