Creating a model workflow

This topic outlines the model creation workflow. The model type that you choose can vary the process, but the sequence remains the same.

To create a new model workflow

  1. Click Workspace > Domains, Services & Applications > domainName  > Works folder.
  2. In the working area at the right, from the Add works list, select Add model.
  3. Specify the type of model type that you want to create.
  4. Specify the resources to include in the model. For example, systems, business drives, entities and so on.
  5. Specify a predefined model template based on which to create the model.
  6. Specify the name and description for the new model.
For some types of models, this step is presented earlier, and some of the earlier steps do not apply.

To add a new scenario to a model

Before running a prediction, you will need to create a scenario. For an introduction to models and scenarios, see Modeling capacity usage.

  1. Click Workspace > Domains, Services & Applications > domainName > Works.
  2. In the Works table, click the appropriate model name in the working area on the right.
  3. In the Prediction scenarios section, click Add scenario.
  4. In the Add a new scenario page, specify the properties as required.
Depending on the model type, the page may be available in Basic or Advanced mode. Basic properties are essential, while advanced properties are optional.

To run a scenario

In the Prediction scenarios section, click the scenario name. Click Run now the scenario's detail page. The name may vary depending on the chosen model. For example, the name might show as Run forecast for a Time Forecasting model.

A summary of the results is presented in the Execution summary table.

Additional information

The Promote to Golden option, only visible to administrators, lets you schedule the scenario to be run at set intervals (daily, weekly or monthly).
