Configuring high availability and disaster recovery for reservations
Setting up HA/DR using out-of-the-box tags and rules
Follow the steps given below to set up HA/DR using out-of-the-box tags and rules:
- When you are Adding a Reservation, set the HA/DR required field to Yes.
This creates a copy of all Reservation items for Disaster Recovery. The HA/DR tag is automatically attached to the copy of these Reservation items. - Navigate to the Placement Rules page and enable the HA/DR compatibility rule that is available out-of-the-box.
Enabling this rule ensures that items with HA/DR tag are placed on Reservation Targets with the same tag. - Edit the Reservation Targets and associate the HA/DR tag to use the Reservation Targets for a HA/DR scenario.
Setting up HA/DR using custom tags and rules
Follow the steps given below to set up HA/DR using custom tags and rules:
- Navigate to the Placement Rules page and disable the HA/DR compatibility rule that is available out-of-the-box.
- Create a custom tag. For example, DisasterRecovery.
- Attach the tag to all Reservations that you want to use for HA/DR scenarios.
- Navigate to the Placement Rules page and create a new rule that uses the custom tag.
- Edit the Reservation Targets and associate the custom tag to use the Reservation Targets for a HA/DR scenario.
Setting up HA/DR using the Reservation API
