Selecting templates for reservations and onboarding


Add and manage system and service templates available for Reservations and Onboardings. You can select templates from the workspace tree and make them available for reservation items and onboarding events.

Refer to the following sections for details on viewing and adding templates for Reservation and Onboarding items.

To select System or Service templates for Reservation items

Click ➕️ Select system/service templates to add new templates to this list.

Select System/Service templates from the list and click rem_inclu.png to add it to the System/Service templates for Reservations list. Click add_inclu.png to remove templates from the list.

The Templates for Reservation items list displays the system and service templates for using with Reservation items.

Template details for Reservation items

Field

Description

Name

Name of the system or service template that is available for Reservations.

Type

The type of the resource instance. For example, Virtual Machine - VMware, Business Service, Virtual Machine - AIX LPAR.

Requirements

Details such as the allocated/utilized number of Virtual CPUs, CPU (speed/core fractions), Memory, and Disk space for the corresponding Template. Allocation or utilization values are displayed depending on the Resource Comparison Method selected on the Settings page.

OS

The operating system used by the template.

Tech

The virtualization technology used by the template.

To select System templates for Onboarding items

Click ➕️ Select system templates to add new templates to this list.

Select System templates from the list and click rem_inclu.png to add it to the System templates for Onboarding list. Click add_inclu.png to remove templates from the list.

The Templates for Onboarding list displays the system templates available for using with Onboarding.

Template details for Onboarding

Field

Description

Name

Name of the system template that it available for Onboarding.

Type

The type of the resource instance. For example, Hosts and Clusters.

Capacity

Details such as the number of Virtual CPUs, CPU (speed/core fractions), Memory, and Disk space available for the corresponding Template.

OS

The operating system used by the template.

Tech

The virtualization technology used by the template.
