Converting guest profiles to standard templates in a virtualization study

This section describes the steps to convert existing guest profiles to standard templates.

Click Convert Guest Profiles from the Virtual Planner > Settings tab. The Guest Profiles page is displayed.

To delete a guest profile, select the profile and click Delete Selected.

To convert a guest profile to template, click Convert to Template. The Save <profile name> as template page is displayed.

The available fields are:

Time range to extract resource usage profile

The options are:

  • Last 24 hours
  • Last week (Default)
  • Last month
  • Last specific days, hours, weeks, months, or years: Enter the appropriate value.
    • Including current: Available only with this option. Based on your specification, includes the current day, hour, week, month, or year.
  • Based on time filter: Select a time filter from the drop-down list.

Template name

The name of the new system template that is created from the conversion. By default it is template_<profile name>.

Save in

The location for the new system template.

Click Save.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
