Look utility

The Gateway Server Look utility displays the contents of the Agent Metric Repository. It includes the collectors (Collector Registration Queue), agents (Agent Registration Queue) that are currently running, groups (Collector Input Queue), data the collector is collecting, and the Investigate policies that are being used (Policy Registration Queue) on the console.

To run Look

1. Click Start > Programs > BMC Software > Look.
   A dialog box similar to the one in the following figure appears.
   
   

   

2. Select or clear the options in the dialog box according to your preferences.
3. Use the Write to file option to have Look create a text file containing the information it collects. The file can be saved to the default directory or you can specify an alternate directory. The default is: %BEST1_COLLECT_HOME%\bgs\log\Look_<version number>.txt
4. Click Look to run the utility.
   A message appears telling you that Look finished successfully. If you selected the option Write to file, the message also displays the location of the text file that Look created.
5. Click OK. If you selected the option, Display result with Notepad when Look completes, the text file opens automatically in Notepad.
