What is different from TrueSight Capacity Optimization

This topic describes what has changed in BMC Helix Capacity Optimization. Some features are removed from BMC Helix Capacity Optimization because they are not relevant, and some administration functions are now managed by BMC. 

Features that are not available

Integration Studio and the following related capabilities are not available in BMC Helix Capacity Optimization:

  • Creation of custom ETLs using Integration Studio
  • Creation of new custom advanced report templates using BIRT in Integration Studio

To create custom ETLs, you can now use the ETL Development Kit (EDK). Also, you can migrate your existing custom advanced report templates. For migration instructions, see Migrating-artifacts.

Functions managed by BMC

The following administration functions related to components in your on-premises environment are not available in BMC Helix Capacity Optimization because they are now managed by BMC. 

  • Global configuration tasks that include SNMP notifications, search options, and manual editing of system properties
  • Maintenance tasks that include configuring logs and software updates
  • Modification of the data warehouse aging properties
  • Primary scheduler restart
