Migrating artifacts

If you want to use BMC Helix Capacity Optimization to manage the capacity of your on-premises environment that is being currently managed by TrueSight Capacity Optimization, you can migrate the following artifacts created in TrueSight Capacity Optimization to BMC Helix Capacity Optimization.

  • ETLs
  • Report templates
  • Data marts (only the ones created in TrueSight Capacity Optimization 11.5.01)
  • Analysis and forecasting models
  • Custom views

Migration involves the following activities:

  1. Exporting the artifact from TrueSight Capacity Optimization.
  2. Importing the artifact in BMC Helix Capacity Optimization.

BMC Helix Capacity Optimization uses the PostgreSQL database. If you are using an Oracle database in your on-premises environment, migration of some artifacts such as data marts fails due to compatibility issues. Therefore, ensure that the SQL queries that define data marts are compatible with PostgreSQL before migrating them.
