Note

On UNIX, you must first set the environment variables (BEST1_ HOME and BEST1_COLLECT_HOME) to the directory:  /usr/adm/best1_versionNumber.

To collect data, specify the full path to the best1collect command. For example, on UNIX:

 /usr/adm/best1_<versionNumber>/bgs/scripts/best1collect [options]

On Windows, you can enter the command from the command prompt:

 best1collect [options]

Note

For a description of the available options, refer to the online Help for best1collect using the following command: best1collect -h

Examples

The following is an example of the command entered on UNIX that runs for one hour and writes the data to the /opt/best1/data directory:

/usr/adm/best1_<versionNumber>/bgs/scripts/best1collect -d /opt/best1/data

The following is an example query, on UNIX, to show the status of the collect request:

/usr/adm/best1_<versionNumber>/bgs/scripts/best1collect -Q
