Use the information in this section to understand the primary milestones for getting orientated with the Remedy Single Sign-On product documentation. 

Quick overview

Remedy Single Sign-On (Remedy SSO) is an authentication system for a multi software environment that enables end users to enter credentials for authentication only once. After Remedy SSO authenticates the end users, they can automatically access any application protected by Remedy SSO without a need to provide the credentials again.

End users can change their AR passwords directly on the Remedy SSO end-user login page if an Remedy SSO administrator has enabled this functionality.

User roles and responsibilities

The following user roles are involved in performing different tasks in Remedy SSO:

Solution deployer

  • Installs Remedy SSO
  • Upgrades Remedy SSO
  • Integrates Remedy SSO with third-party applications

SaaS administrator

  • Creates and manages tenants.
  • Creates and manages SaaS administrators and tenant administrators.
  • Sets up a tenant's configuration on the Remedy SSO server:
    • Enables single sign-on experience for applications protected by Remedy SSO
    • Configures authentication methods
    • Configures OAuth 2.0
    • Configures the Remedy SSO server
    • Manages local users
    • Imports and exports Remedy SSO server configuration
    • Configures Remedy SSO for applications hosted on different domains
    • Enables cross launch for applications integrated with different Remedy SSO servers
    • Configures a start page by adding applications protected and not protected by Remedy SSO
    • Invalidates and configures end user sessions
    • Reviews audit records

Tenant administrator

Manages local users and groups for a tenant.

Note: This role is available only if Remedy SSO is multitenant.

Identity provider administrator

  • Configures an identity provider to create a service account for Remedy SSO
  • Provides the service account information to a Remedy SSO administrator

Developer of a third-party application integrated with Remedy SSO

Develops applications integrated with Remedy SSO
