BMC Helix Telco Extensions


This topic provides customers with information about service operations for the BMC Helix Telco Extensions service.

With BMC Helix Telco Extensions, BMC extends the Helix IT Service Management excellence into the CSP's (Communications Service Provider) Network Operations Center (NOC). BMC Helix Telco Extensions is a service management solution offered exclusively to CSPs and built for the unique CSP NOC workflows. License entitlements

The following applications, features, and utilities are available with the purchase of BMC Helix Telco Extensions:

  • Network alarm diagnosis and management helps NOC agents triage and prioritize tickets and work orders/tasks  
  • Automated Network Impact Management capabilities provide visibility of impacted CIs, services, parties and SLAs 
  • Impact Analysis output drives automated notifications to ‘interested’ parties including customers and partners 
  • Hierarchical ticketing simplifies diagnosis enabling effective management of related tickets 
  • Related Parties provides additional contact context to drive collaboration beyond internal support groups 
  • Service Level Management supports multiple SLAs associated with a Network Service to drive prioritization

With the "per named user - SaaS" unit of measurement, each named user accessing the application has an assigned license that is not available to other users.

With the "per concurrent user - SaaS" unit of measurement, a concurrent user accesses the application from a pool of shared licenses if one is available.

Additional license terms

The following additional terms apply to the BMC Helix Telco Extensions service:

  • You must purchase BMC Helix ITSM Suite Licenses or Service Management Standard/Advanced subscription to add BMC Helix Telco Extensions.
  • Licensing terms and conditions are as defined in the governing master agreement and take precedence over any published description from this site. 
  • Entitlements are subject to change. 
  • Non-production environments are configured with the same license capacity as the production environment.  
  • User licenses cannot be shared between multiple users; each user license entitles one user access to all license capabilities referenced above and these entitlements may not be split between multiple users. 
  • A concurrent user license is consumed from the pool as soon as the user logs into the system and is held for a minimum of one hour in case of inactivity. 
  • Purchased licenses are valid only on one production environment. 
  • Integrations into the system may not be used to circumvent user licensing.
