Starting or stopping data streams


A running data stream indicates that data for a specific data type is being collected from a source. When you configure an integration, you can choose to start data streaming immediately or later as needed.

To start data streams

Perform the following steps to start one or more data streams for an individual source or all sources:

  • To start all data streams for an individual source, move the SOURCES slider to the right for the source.

  • To start all data streams for all the sources simultaneously, move the DESTINATIONS slider to the right.

To stop data streams

Perform the following steps to stop one or more data streams for an individual source or all sources: 

  • To stop all data streams for an individual source, move the SOURCES slider to the left for the source.

  • To stop all data streams for all sources simultaneously, move the DESTINATIONS slider to the left.

  • To stop a specific data stream for an individual source, click the source, click the dot icon in the center of the data stream, and select Stop for the data stream.

To delete a specific data stream

To delete a specific data stream for an individual source, click the source, click the dot icon in the center of the data stream, and select Delete.

To add a new data stream for a connection instance

You can set up multiple streams for a data type for a connection instance. This approach is beneficial when handling large volumes of data. You can divide a single data stream into several streams, each with its own filter.

To create a new data stream for an existing connection instance, perform the following steps:

  1. On the CONNECTORS tab, click add_icon.pngin the SOURCES panel.
  2. Select an existing connector from the Source Connection list for which you want to create a new data stream.
  3. Select the destination from the Destination Connection list.
  4. Select the data type for which you want to create the stream.
  5. Apply the filter for the data type and click CREATE COLLECTORS to create the required collector streams for the selected data types.
  6. Click CREATE DISTRIBUTORS to create the required distributor streams for the selected data types.
  7. Click one of the following buttons:
    • SAVE STREAM: Click this button if you want to edit the stream before the data collection starts. After you save the stream, a new stream is created for the selected connector. You can start the data stream when required. For more information, see To start the data stream.
    • SAVE AND START STREAM: Click this button if you want to save the data stream and start collecting data immediately.
