Hypervisor Details dashboard

The Hypervisor Details dashboard provides a detailed summary of an OpenStack Hypervisor entity.

Within the dashboard the following capacity insights are presented:

  • Aggregated Utilization values over the last 30 days for the following metrics: CPU, Memory, and Storage
  • Total count of all underlying OpenStack entities related to the selected OpenStack Cloud
  • Capacity related metrics displayed in a timeseries chart


Warning

Important

Do not make the dashboard editable by using the Make editable option in the dashboard settings. If you want to customize the dashboard, we recommend that you create a copy of the dashboard and customize it.

Filters

Filters can be found in the upper left portion of the dashboard. The following filters are:

  • Cloud → Filters most, if not all, panels to only focus on the specified Cloud selected
  • Region → Filters most, if not all, panels to only focus on the specified Region selected
  • Host Aggregate → Filters most, if not all, panels to only focus on the specified Host Aggregate selected
  • Hypervisor → Filters most, if not all, panels to only focus on the specified Hypervisor selected


Panels

The Hypervisor Details Dashboard consists of multiple panels that give insight into the capacity and health of the selected OpenStack Hypervisor entity.

Name

Name of the OpenStack Hypervisor entity.

Type

Entity Type of the OpenStack Hypervisor entity as defined in BMC Helix Continuous Optimization (BHCO).

CPU, Memory, & Storage Utilization Values

The hourly average datapoints aggregated over the last 30 days. Displayed for the following metrics: CPU, Memory, and Storage

Tags

The tags assigned to the selected OpenStack Hypervisor entity.

 

Virtual Cluster

A collapsible row that presents timeseries charts of relevant metrics for the specifically selected Hypervisor.

CPU Utilization

A chart that displays the CPU Utilization (CPU_UTIL) over time. The time is controlled by the hand time picker in the top right of the dashboard page.

Memory Utilization

A chart that displays the Memory Utilization (MEM_UTIL) over time. The time is controlled by the hand time picker in the top right of the dashboard page.

Disk IO Rate

A chart that displays the Disk Transfer Rate (DISK_TRANSFER_RATE) over time. The time is controlled by the hand time picker in the top right of the dashboard page.

Network Rate

A chart that displays the Network Bit Rate (NET_BIT_RATE) over time. The time is controlled by the hand time picker in the top right of the dashboard page.

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
