Use the Storage Dashboard to visualize and monitor the storage usage of BMC Helix ITSM applications. Analyze the data provided by the dashboard to track and optimize storage usage.

Information

Scenario
Mike is a system administrator at Apex Global. He wants to track the storage usage of BMC Helix ITSM applications.

He reviews the storage usage on the Storage Dashboard and realizes that usage is decreasing substantially. He shares this analysis with the team that manages BMC Helix ITSM applications. Based on this usage pattern, the team decides to reduce the overall allocated storage to prevent unnecessary spending.

To view the dashboard

  1. From the navigation menu, click Dashboards.
  2. Search for the License Usage Dashboards folder and select it.
  3. Click Storage Dashboard.

    View the Storage Dashboard to analyze the storage usage of BMC Helix ITSM applications.
     
  4. From the Duration list, select a duration to view the monthly or yearly (default) usage. 

Reviewing the storage usage

The dashboard provides the following information:

  • The bar chart shows the percentage storage usage of BMC Helix ITSM applications. The red line indicates a critical threshold (95 percent of storage usage), and the yellow line indicates a warning threshold (90 percent of storage usage).
    • Analyze the trend to verify whether the storage usage is within the threshold limits.
    • Hover over a bar to view the allocated, used, and percentage values of storage usage.
  • The table shows the allocated storage, used storage, and percentage usage of BMC Helix ITSM applications. You can filter the table column values.

Depending on the selected duration, the graph and table show data for the last year or 30 days. By default, data for the last year is displayed.
