CIO Overview dashboard


As an administrator, use the CIO Overview dashboard to view the information about all events, services, situations, and inventories in your system.

The following image shows the CIO Overview dashboard:

To view the dashboard:

  1. In BMC Helix Dashboards from the navigation menu, click Dashboards.
  2. Click the Operations Management folder and click CIO Overview.

Tip: To quickly open the dashboard from the home page, mark it as a favorite by using the star icon. Additionally, after you open a dashboard, it is available under Recently viewed dashboards on the home page. Type your information message here.

Panels in the CIO Overview dashboard

The summary section

Provides the following information:

  • Total events: The total number of events in the system.
  • Open events: The number of open events in the system.
  • Closed events: The number of closed events in the system.
  • Business services: The total number of business services in the system.
  • Open situations: The number of open situations in the system.
  • Event noise reduction: The percentage of event noise reduction. You can achieve event noise reduction by configuring the correct event policies. For more information, see Monitoring events and reducing event noise.
  • Business services by event count: The business services that have events generated on them. By default, you can see the top 5 business services with the most number of events. You can customize the number of business services that you want to see.
  • Business services by situation count: The business services that have situations generated on them. By default, you can see the top 5 business services with the most number of situations. You can customize the number of business services that you want to see.
  • Business services by health count: The health score of business services. By default, you can see the health score of the top 5 business services. You can customize the number of business services that you want to see.

The Events section

Provides the following pie charts:

  • Open Events by Severity: The number of open events in the system according to their severity.
  • Open Events by Source: The number of open events in the system according to their event class.
  • Situation Severity: The number of situations in the system according to their severity.
  • Situation Status: The number of situations in the system according to their status.

The Open Situations section

Provides the following information about all open situations in the system:

  • Creation: Time when the situation was created
  • Severity: The situation severity
  • Service Name: The service on which the situation was created.
  • Message: The message added to the situation.
  • Incident ID: The ID of the incident that was created in BMC Helix ITSM because of the situation.

Click any row in the Open Situations table to view the service model or the situation details in BMC Helix AIOps.

The Active NOC Events section

All active Network Operations Center (NOC) events. The following information is available:

  • Creation time: Time when the event was created.
  • Severity: The event severity.
  • Service Name: The service on which the event is created.
  • Message: The message added to the event.

Click any row in the Active NOC Events table to view the event details in BMC Helix Operations Management.
