Nutanix Host dashboard


The Nutanix Host dashboard provides an overview of all the Nutanix Acropolis Hosts within the client's BMC Helix Continuous Optimization (HCO) environment. Nutanix Acropolis Hosts are identified by the HCO entity type "Virtual Host - Acropolis". Within the dashboard the following capacity insights will be presented:

  • Snapshot of the Current Capacity
  • Future Saturation


Important

Do not make the dashboard editable by using the Make editable option in the dashboard settings. If you want to customize the dashboard, we recommend that you create a copy of the dashboard and customize it.

Filters

Filters can be found in the upper left portion of the dashboard. The following filters are:

  • Cluster → Filters all panels to only focus on the specified cluster(s) selected
  • Time Period → Contains three values: Last 30 Days, Last 7 Days, and Yesterday. This filter changes the aggregation period for the metrics CPU Utilization, Memory Utilization, and Storage Utilization. Ergo, only tables that that have the column CPU Utilization, Memory Utilization, and Storage Space Utilization are affected by this filter.
  • Resource Statistic → Contains three values: Average, Max, and 95th Percentile. This Filter changes the aggregation statistic for the metrics CPU Utilization, Memory Utilization, and Storage Utilization. Ergo, only tables that that have the column CPU Utilization, Memory Utilization, and Storage Space Utilization are affected by this filter.

Panels

The Nutanix Host Dashboard consists of multiple panels that give insight into the capacity and health of Nutanix Acropolis Hosts.


Total Host Count

Displays the total Acropolis Host count found within the client's HCO environment. The total count is affected by the "Cluster" filter.

Not Saturated

Displays the count for all Acropolis Hosts that are predicted to not have future saturation in one or more of the following metrics: CPU Utilization, Memory Utilization, or Storage Space Utilization. The count is affected by the "Cluster" filter.

Future Saturated

Displays the count for all Acropolis Hosts that will have a future saturation in one or more of the following metrics: CPU Utilization, Memory Utilization, or Storage Space Utilization. The count is affected by the "Cluster" filter.

Future Saturated

Displays the count for all Acropolis Hosts that are currently saturated in one or more of the following metrics: CPU Utilization, Memory Utilization, or Storage Space Utilization. The total is affected by the "Cluster" filter.

VM Count

Number of Virtual Machines associated with the respective host.

GM_NUM

Disk Count

Number of Disks associated with the respective host.

DISK_NUM

Days to Saturation

Shows whether the respective host has Saturation, Future Saturation, or no Saturation for one or more of the following metrics: CPU Utilization, Memory Utilization, or Storage Space Utilization. Only hosts that are expected to saturate within the next 100 days are considered to have future saturation. Days to Saturation is computed by calculating the slope using the last 30 days of hourly data.

CPU_UTIL, MEM_UTIL, TOTAL_DSTORE_UTIL

Bottleneck

The metric that is contributing to the current saturation or future saturation shown in the Days to Saturation column.

CPU Utilization

Aggregated CPU Utilization value. This value is affected by the "Cluster" and "Time Period" filters.

CPU_UTIL

Total Memory

Total Memory value.

TOTAL_REAL_MEM

Memory Utilization

Aggregated Memory Utilization value. This value is affected by the "Cluster" and "Time Period" filters.

MEM_UTIL

Storage Size

Total Storage Size value.

TOTAL_DSTORE_SIZE

Storage Utilization

Aggregated Storage Space Utilization value. This value is affected by the "Cluster" and "Time Period" filters.

A collapsible row that contains panels that show the Top 10 Acropolis Hosts with the highest usage for their respective resource CPU, Memory and Storage.
