Operations Center dashboard


Use the Operations Center dashboard to visualize and analyze incidents and situations generated for critical infrastructure resources, such as servers and databases. This dashboard helps you prioritize the incidents or situations that need immediate attention.

This dashboard derives data from the following sources:

  • Service management SQL queries
  • AIOps service monitoring API
    /impact-service/api/v1.0/entities
Scenario

Jordan is a reporting administrator at Apex Global. He monitors the infrastructure to ensure the critical services are always up and running. He uses the Operations Center dashboard to monitor the health of the infrastructure.

He notices a critical incident displayed on the dashboard. The incident is generated due to some issues in the database. Due to this issue, the catalog service fails. He immediately informs the database administrator to fix the issue on priority.

To view the dashboard

  1. From the navigationmenu_icon.pngmenu, click Dashboards.
  2. Search for the Service Dashboards folder and select it.
  3. Click Operations Center.
    The Operations Center dashboard is displayed.

Each panel on the Operations Center dashboard contains the following details:

  • Header with a count of incidents or situation
  • Count of incidents or situations that are unassigned. If the count is zero, the cell background is displayed in green. Else, it is displayed in red.

Important

The filters on the dashboard are dependent on the dashboard time frame. Hence their list contains Service Configuration Items and Assigned groups that contain critical incidents opened on the dashboard time frame. The default time frame is 24 hours.


Tip: Quick access from the Home page

To quickly open the dashboard from the Home page, mark it as a favorite by using the star icon. Additionally, after you open a dashboard, it is available under Recently viewed dashboards on the Home page.

Panels in the Operations Center dashboard

Important

  • You can click any row under the Age column in the Availability, DB, Performance, and MultiAlerts panels to open the incident details on the SmartIT Dashboard. 
  • Use the following configurable variables to search for a specific syntax in the incident description and they can be modified if necessary:
    • For Synthetic monitoring panels (Availability and Performance), the syntax is synthetic_prefix. The default value is APM:APP.
    • For DB panel, the syntax is db_prefix. The default value is BHOM_PGSQL.


AIOps Details dashboard

The AIOps Details dashboard is a drill-down dashboard from the Operations Center that displays a situation's details.

This dashboard derives data from the following sources:

  • Service management SQL queries
  • AIOPS service monitoring API
    /impact-service/api/v1.0/entities 

    /situation-detector/api/v1.1/situation/description


To view the AIOps Details Dashboard

To view the dashboard, click a situation in the Situations panel on the Operations Center dashboard. The dashboard displays the following situation details:

Panels in the Sub Services row of the AIOps Details dashboard

The Sub Services row displays the sub-services associated with the service, sorted by health score from lowest to highest. Click this panel to drill down to the AIOps dashboards.
