Asset Incidents Dashboard


As an asset manager, view the metrics of the incidents associated with various assets (CIs) in your organization on the Asset Incidents dashboard. Use these metrics to efficiently track, monitor, and manage the incidents to maintain service availability and system performance.

For example, you can view the number and type of assets that have incidents. You can also view the incidents that are associated with each asset. 

Example

Identify assets that are most affected by incidents

Garth, an asset manager, wants to know the assets that are most affected because of incidents.

He uses this dashboard to view the incidents associated with each asset in his organization and identifies the most affected assets. He prioritizes the assets and incidents that need more attention and makes data-driven decisions to maintain service availability and system performance. 

To view the Asset Incidents dashboard

  1. From the navigation menu menu_icon.png, click Dashboards.
  2. Click the Helix ITSM folder and then click Asset Incidents Dashboard.

Tip

To quickly open the dashboard from the Home page, mark the dashboard as a favorite by using the star icon. Additionally, after you open a dashboard, it is available under Recently viewed dashboards on the Home page.

Panels in the Asset Incidents dashboard

The following table describes the panels in the Asset Incidents dashboard:

Select a time range to display data of that time interval in the dashboard.

By default, the dashboard displays data for the last 30 days.

Top Assets Assigned Incidents

Displays a bar chart representing the number of incidents associated with each asset.

Total Incidents to Asset Relationships

Displays the total number of incidents associated with the assets.

Displays the total number of assets with incidents.

Incidents Breakdown By Asset Class

Displays a pie chart representing the percentage of incidents per asset class.

Count of Incidents per Asset

Displays the following information:

  • Reconciliation ID: Unique reconciliation identifier of the asset.
  • CI Class: The CI class of the asset.
  • CI Name: The name of the asset.
  • Record Type: The record type, that is, Configuration Item, of the asset.
  • Count of Incident Request: The number of incidents associated with the asset.
    To view the list of these incidents, click the number.
    The All Incidents of Selected Asset <asset name> panel displays the list of these incidents.

All Incidents of Selected Asset <asset name>

Displays the list of incidents based on the incident count you click in Count of Incident Request in the Count of Incidents per Asset panel.

The following are the columns:

  • Submit Date: Displays the date and time at which the incident is submitted.
  • Incident Description: Displays the description of the incident.
  • Incident ID: Displays the incident ID.
    Click the incident ID to view the incident summary in the Printable Incident Details report. 
    Click the incident ID in the Printable Incident Details report to open the incident in BMC Helix ITSM.
  • CI Name: Displays the name of the asset associated with the incident.
