Univariate Anomalies By Device dashboard

The health of business services depends on the devices that support them. Anomalies can disrupt the normal functioning of devices which in turn can affect the associated business services. Use the Univariate Anomalies By Device dashboard to visualize and analyze anomalies that are generated based on the univariate events.

The dashboard provides the following details of anomalies:

  • Count of total, closed, and open anomalies
  • Metrics used for computing anomalies
  • Impact of change requests and situations on the metrics
  • Anomaly status and severity
Scenario

Jim is an operator at Apex Global. He is responsible for monitoring the health of business services and devices in the organization. From the Anomalies Overview dashboard, Jim opened the Anomalies By Service dashboard and found anomalies for one of the devices listed in the Univariate Anomalies panel. He clicked the device name to investigate the cause and opened the Univariate By Device dashboard.

He observed that the anomaly was due to CPU overutilization of the device. He analyzed further by selecting Last 30 days as the time range and discovered that this anomaly had been happening frequently. Therefore, he requested for an increase in the CPU capacity for the device to resolve the anomaly.
