BMC Helix ITSM Application Availability dashboard



As a dashboard user, you can access the Application Availability dashboard to track the availability of an application or business service and plan your business activities accordingly. By using this dashboard, you can get the following information about the uptime of an application or business service:

  • Planned downtime
  • Unplanned downtime
  • Scheduled uptime
  • Actual and target availability

Example: Application Availability dashboard

The IT support group of a Calbro Services received a number of incident tickets indicating issues with their messaging application. To troubleshoot this issue, Paul, the IT engineer accesses the Application Availability dashboard to see the uptime of the messaging application.

To view the dashboard

  1. From the navigation menu menu_icon.png, click Dashboards.
  2. Click the Helix ITSM folder and then click Application Availability.

    Tip: Quick access from the home page

    To quickly open the dashboard from the home page, mark it as a favorite by using the star icon. Additionally, after you open a dashboard, it is available under Recently viewed dashboards on the home page.

Dashboard filters

Displays the filters to view the information on the dashboard. You can filter the data on the Application Availability dashboard by Business Service. Additionally, you can filter the data by using the date and time range global filter. By default, the search result displays the data of last 30 days.

Availability overview

Displays the summary of the availability status of an application or business service. You can view the following availability data for an application

  • Planned downtime in hours
  • Unplanned downtime in hours
  • Scheduled uptime in hours
  • Actual availability percentage
  • Target availability percentage

Details of Incidents that impacted application availability

Displays the details of incidents that impacted the availability of an application or a business service.

Displays the details of change requests that impacted the availability of an application or a business service.
