Configuring a time zone for your tenant

Configure a time zone for your tenant. With this configuration, data is displayed in the specified time zone for all the users configured by the tenant administrator. Users can configure their preferred time zone from the My Profile menu. For these users, their configured time zone preference precedes the time zone configured at the tenant level. If no preference is specified by users, the time zone configured at the tenant level is used.

Scenario

Jordon is an administrator at Apex Global. His organization uses BMC Helix Operations Management and BMC Helix AIOps to monitor business services.

One day, he received a request from a BMC Helix AIOps service reliability engineer (SRE) to configure the same time zone for one of the tenants due to a server outage. The SRE reported that different operators had configured different browser time zones across the distributed tenant instances. Therefore, he could not determine the exact outage time to investigate and troubleshoot issues. Jordon configured the specified time zone in BMC Helix Portal, which helped the SRE to identify and troubleshoot the server issues.

To configure a time zone

  1. Log in to BMC Helix Portal.
  2. Select Configure > Settings.
    The current time zone is displayed under Preferences.

  3. Click Edit and select the required time zone from the Time Zone list.
  4. Save the changes.
