Support for systemd in TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse and TrueSight Smart Reporting

For TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse, on Linux systems with systemd support, the systemctl commands are now the default commands to start, stop or restart the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse services.

Support for init.d services is discontinued.

For more information, see Managing-the-Authentication-Service and Managing-the-Web-server-service.

For TrueSight Smart Reporting, a hotfix is available to enable the systemd support on Linux environments. The systemctl commands allows the use of start, stop or restart the TrueSight Smart Reporting services. However, existing support to start or stop the TrueSight Smart Reporting  services remain operational.

For more information about how to apply the hotfix, contact BMC Support.

Enhanced pre-installation checks for seamless upgrade

You can now experience a smoother upgrade process with the improved pre-installation checks. Before the upgrade procedure begins, the system validates the database connectivity with either the Data Warehouse database or the Primary Site database. These pre-install checks are done when the upgrade is done either through the Installation wizard or during the silent installation procedure and an appropriate error message is displayed on the TrueSight Server Installation preview screen. For more information, see Upgrading-TrueSight-Server-Automation-Data-Warehouse-using-the-wizard and Upgrading-TrueSight-Server-Automation-Data-Warehouse-silently.

The archival and restoration utility is enhanced. Data archiving and restore in the F_JOB_AUTH table in the Job Activity domain are now supported in TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse.

The F_JOB_AUTH table, which generates a substantial amount of data, is now incorporated into the framework. Consequently, when you execute the archival process, the data from this table is also archived.

For more information, see Domains-supported-by-the-archive-and-restore-utility.

Availability of architecture and checksum data in TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform

As a reporting user, when creating a custom report in TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platformfor the Inventory Domain, use the new attributes Architecture, Meta Checksum High, and Meta Checksum Low to fetch the architecture and checksum details of the software deployed on the target servers.

The new ARCHITECTURE, META_CHECKSUM_HI, and META_CHECKSUM_LO columns, enhance the reporting capabilities of the system. You can now generate reports by using these new columns.
