Setting database passwords


You can use the Configure Password link in the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse console to set passwords in TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse to match the following database passwords:

  • Reports data warehouse
  • TrueSight Server Automation sites

To set database passwords

  1. Launch the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse console.

    Perform the following steps to access the console:
    1. Use the following URL to open the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse login page:
      https://<TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse hostname>:<portNumber>/tssa-dw
    2. In the User Name and Password fields, enter the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse administrator credentials.
      Default user name: DWAdmin
      By default, the password is hidden. To view the password, click ViewPassword.png.
    3. In Site, select a site. The Primary Site is the default site.
    4. In Authentication Method, select a authentication method. SRP is the default authentication method.
    5. Click LOG IN.
  2. Click Configuration > Database Details.
  3. In the Database Details section, click the Configure Password link.
  4. On the Configure Password page, select the check box next to the database for which you want to change the password.

    The Configure Password page enables you to configure passwords for the following databases:

    • Reports data warehouse
    • TrueSight Server Automation sites

    Note: Using special characters for password

    While creating a password, do not use the following special characters:

    • Ampersand (&)
    • Double quotes (" ")
    • Pipe (|)
    • Less than sign (<)
    • Greater than sign (>)
    • Single quotes (' ')
    • Forward slash (/)
    • Semicolon (;)
    • Percent (%)

    Enables you to configure the password for the reports data warehouse

    Enables you to configure the password for a TrueSight Server Automation site

    Confirm Password

    Confirmed password for the selected database

  5. Enter and confirm the new password. 
  6. Click Update
    The Last Task Details page confirms whether the passwords were changed successfully.
  7. (For Warehouse Database password onlyModify the datasource password in TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform

    Perform the following steps to modify the datasource password.
    1. Log in to the system where the TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform is installed, and restart TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform.

      Perform the following steps:
      • (Windows) Open the Windows services and restart the following service: TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform
      • (Linux)
        1. Change to the following path: /data1/TrueSightSmartReporting/appserver/bin
        2. Stop TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform: ./shutdown.sh
        3. Start TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform: ./startup.sh
    2. Log in to the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse console. 

      To log in as the DWAdmin user, do the following:
      1. Use the following URL to open the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse login page:
        https://<TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse hostname>:<portNumber>/tssa-dw
      2. In the User Name and Password fields, enter the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse administrator credentials.
        Default user name: DWAdmin
        By default, the password is hidden. To view the password, click ViewPassword.png.
      3. In Site, select a site. The Primary Site is the default site.
      4. In Authentication Method, select a authentication method. SRP is the default authentication method.
      5. Click LOG IN.
      6. Click Reports to launch the TrueSight Smart Reporting - Platform Home page.
      To log in as a reporting user, do the following:
      1. Use the following URL to open the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse login page:
        https://<TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse hostname>:<portNumber>/tssa-dw
      2. In the User Name and Password fields, enter the user credentials. By default, the password is hidden. To view the password, click ViewPassword.png.
      3. In Site, select a site. The Primary Site is the default site.
      4. In Authentication Method, select a authentication method. SRP is the default authentication method.
      5. Click LOG IN.
      6. In the Roles window, select the role you want to use and click OK. Through role-based access control (RBAC), you can be granted multiple roles, but you can use only one role at a time.
    3. In the left navigation bar, expand image2019-3-12_7-25-33.png  and go to Administration > Admin console.
    4. Click Data Sources and then click the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse datasource.
    5. Click Connection Settings.
    6. Make the required changes in the provided fields.
      For example, if you are changing the password, do the following:
      1. In the Password field, click the Click here to change password link
      2. Add the changed password in the text field.
    7. Click Test Connection. If the details are correct, a connection success message appears.
    8. Click Save.
