Configuring TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse by using the console
After the product installation is complete, you must configure various databases, repositories, and the email server by using the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse console.

Before you begin
Before you start configuring the product, ensure that the following requirements are met:
- (Microsoft SQL Server only) Ensure that you have permission to create a database link between TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse and TrueSight Server Automation.
- To access the console, JavaScript must be enabled for your web browser. 
- If you want to view the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse console with Microsoft  Internet Explorer 9 and 10 and if the browser is set to display sites in the compatibility view, you  must change the browser settings. To change the settings, from the Tools menu, select the Compatibility View settings command. Clear the Display intranet sites in Compatibility View check box.
 
To configure the product by using the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse console
- If you did not configure the product immediately after installation, launch the console by performing the following steps: - To view the home page for the console on Microsoft Windows or UNIX systems, click Start > Programs > TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse > Console.
 Alternatively, you can enter the following address into a web browser:
 https://reportsServer:portNumber/tssa-dw- reportsServer is the server that hosts TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse.
- portNumber is the Tomcat web server secure port that you specified during installation.

- In User Name, enter DWAdmin .
- In Password, enter the password for the DWAdmin user ID that you created during installation. By default, the password is hidden. To view the password, click .
- Click LOG IN.
 
- To view the home page for the console on Microsoft Windows or UNIX systems, click Start > Programs > TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse > Console.
- On the Database Type tab, view the database type that you are using. The Database Type tab specifies the database type (Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server) being used byTrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse.
- Click Next.
- Provide information on the Database Prerequisites tab. - The Database Prerequisites tab validates whether you have created the required tablespaces and users. - Using new databases- If you have already created databases and users, select the Fresh database and users are already created? If yes, select the radio button and proceed. If not, download database scripts. option and click Next.
- If not, click the Download the scripts to create users/database/schema link to download the database and user creation scripts. Set up the database:- (Oracle) Create users and tablespaces using the downloaded script and start the configuration process again. For instructions for creating users and tablespaces, see Setting up the Oracle database.
- (SQL Server) Create users and databases using the downloaded script and start the configuration process again. For instructions for creating users and databases, see Setting up the SQL Server database.
 
 
- Using the existing - BMC Decision Support for Server Automation - databases - Select the Use the existing BladeLogic Decision Support for Server Automation (BDSSA) databases. option and click Next. 
 
- Using new databases
- Provide information on the ETL Master Repository tab and click Next. 
 The ETL Master Repository tab enables you to configure the following parameters for the extract, transform, and load (ETL) master repository:- Field definitions - Field - Description - Host Name - Host name or IP address of ETL master repository server - Port - Port number on which the ETL master repository server listens - SID (Oracle) or Database Name (SQL Server) - Service ID or Service name for the ETL master repository - User Name - ETL master repository user name - Password - Password for the ETL master repository user - Note: Using any of the following special characters in the password will cause the configuration to fail, requiring you to reconfigure the database schema. - Ampersand (&)
- Double quotes (" ")
- Pipe (|)
- Less than sign (<)
- Greater than sign (>)
- Single quotes (' ')
- Forward slash (/)
- Semicolon (;)
 - Confirm Password - Same password for confirming the ETL master repository user 
- Provide information on the ETL Work Repository tab and click Next. - The ETL Work Repository tab enables you to configure the following parameters for the extract, transform, and load (ETL) work repository: - Field definitions - Field - Description - Host Name - Host name or IP address of the ETL work repository server - Port - Port number on which the ETL work repository server listens - SID (Oracle) or Database Name (SQL Server) - Service ID or Service name for the ETL work repository - User Name - ETL work repository user name - Password - Password for the ETL work repository user - Confirm Password - Same password for confirming the ETL work repository user 
- Provide information on the Warehouse Database tab and click Next. If you are using the existing BMC Decision Support for Server Automation database, all the fields (except Password) in this page are auto-populated. 
 The Warehouse Database tab enables you to configure the following parameters for the TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse reports data warehouse:- Field definitions - Field - Description - Database Character Set - (Applicable only for new TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse configuration) Database character set for the reports data warehouse - Values can be CHAR or NCHAR. - This field does not appear if you are using the existing BMC Decision Support for Server Automation database. - Host Name - Host name or IP address of the reports data warehouse database server - Note: LOCALHOST is not allowed. - Port - Port number on which the reports data warehouse database server listens - SID (Oracle)/ Database Name (SQL Server) - Service ID or Service name for the reports data warehouse - User Name - Reports data warehouse user name - Password - Password for the reports data warehouse user - Note: Using any of the following special characters in the password will cause the configuration to fail, requiring you to reconfigure the database schema. - Ampersand (&)

 - Confirm Password - Confirmed password for the reports data warehouse user 
- Provide information on the Primary Site tab. - The Primary Site tab enables you to configure the following parameters for the TrueSight Server Automation primary site: - Field definitions - Field - Description - Host Name - Host name or IP address of the - TrueSight Server Automation - database server - Port - Port number on which the TrueSight Server Automation database server listens - SID (Oracle) or Database Name (SQL Server) - Service ID or Service name for the TrueSight Server Automation database - User Name - TrueSight Server Automation - database user name - Password - Password for the TrueSight Server Automation database user - Confirm Password - Same password for confirming the - TrueSight Server Automation - database user - Site Name - The name with which a TrueSight Server Automation database is referred in TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse - ETL Cutoff Period - Number of past months for which you want the data to be transferred from the TrueSight Server Automation database to the reports data warehouse - Minimum value: 3 
 Maximum value: 36- This field enables you to control the amount of data that is transferred to the reports data warehouse for the first time. This approach limits the amount of historical data that is loaded into the reports data warehouse and potentially reduces the duration of the first extract, transform, and load (ETL) run. For more information about planning and performing the initial ETL run, see Performing-the-initial-ETL-run. 
- Click Finish to display the Last Task Details page. This displays the status and details of the last configuration or reconfiguration task that was run through the console.
- When the product is configured successfully, click Configuration to activate the ETL Management menu.
