Scheduling reports through FTP
As a TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse Administrator, you can send report results to a server through FTP.
Perform the following steps:
Log in to TrueSight Server Automation - Data Warehouse console.
- Click Reports to launch the TrueSight Smart Reporting Home page.
- Open a report.
- Click Broadcast
on the main navigation bar.
- Click Create New and select FTP Schedule.
- Enter a file name (no file extension is required).
- Select the format you wish the report to be sent as, from the following options:
- HTML
- PDF (If you select this option, a Secure PDF checkbox appears. Use this to password-protect your PDF files. You can specify a password yourself, use the one created when exporting the file, or use a default one generated by the system)
- DOCX
- XLSX
- Text
- (Not applicable for HTML) Select Append Broadcast Date to include the current date in the document name.
- In Server Address, specify the address of the server where you are uploading the report.
- In Server Directory, specify the directory where you want the report to be sent to on the server.
- In User Name, specify the username of the server you are trying to access.
- In Password, specify the password of the server you are trying to access.
- If your report contains filters, you can select the filters in the User Prompts Filters field to be applied to the Broadcast Report.

- Select the delivery type.
- Continuous Schedule - (Not applicable for Smart Task) The report will always be delivered based on the selected schedule.
- Alert-based broadcast - The report will be delivered based on the selected schedule, if the results match the alert rules. Click Add Alert Delivery Rules.
- Create a rule based on the following conditions:
- One or more rows must match (for example, is the number of missing patches greater than 20) OR
- Aggregate against entire result set (for example, are the total number of missing patches less than 100)
- Click Add Field and select the field you want to apply the condition on. You can add multiple conditions here if required.
- Click Submit to apply your condition(s). The rule is displayed on the Broadcast window.
- Create a rule based on the following conditions:
- Select the Frequency depending on your requirements.
- (Not applicable for Smart Task) Click Advanced Settings.
- Timezone: Set the deliver timezone.
- Limit Schedule Period: Limit the schedule to run only within a set period.
- Failure Notification: Define an administrator user to be notified if the broadcast schedule fails.
- Click Submit . The broadcast is listed.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
