Creating a UCS Provision Job

To provision a UCS system, you create and run a UCS Provision Job. The UCS Provision Job associates a UCS profile on a Cisco UCS blade. This job can optionally execute a previously defined Provision Job to perform a bare-metal provisioning of the operating system.

Before you begin

Ensure that any user who will take part in the creation and management of UCS Provision Jobs has a role with authorizations from the UCSProvisionJob family of authorizations. For bare-metal Provision Jobs, each UCSProvisionJob authorization must be accompanied by the corresponding ProvisionJob authorization (for example, UCSProvisionJob.Create along with ProvisionJob.Create). For a full list of authorizations, see System-authorizations.

To create a UCS Provision Job

  1. Right-click a folder in the Jobs folder and select New > UCS Provision Job.
  2. Provide information for the new job as described in the following sections:

  3. Click Finish.
The job is stored in the Jobs folder. For information about executing the job or scheduling the job for execution, see Viewing-and-managing-UCS-Provision-Jobs.
