Changing the installation path for the package

You can change the installation directory of Network Shell or RSCD agent package from the default to a location you specify.

The default installation paths are:

  • Network Shell installers: /opt/bmc/bladelogic/NSH
  • RSCD agent installers: /opt/bmc/bladelogic/RSCD

To relocate the package

  1. Copy the default package manager admin file from the /var/sadm/install directory to the /tmp directory.
  2. Open the file in a text editor and change the basedir setting from default to the location in which you want the package to reside. For example:
    basedir=/usr/bladelogic.
  3. When you install the package, include the new admin file. For example:
    pkgadd -a adminFile -d NSH82-SOL8-SPARC-LOCAL

 

Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
