ServerGroup - groupNameToId

ServerGroup - groupNameToId

Description :

This command gets the ID of a server group. You must provide the full path to the server group (for example, /Windows/WestCoast/Intranet).

As a best practice, we recommend that you do not use the same name for a smart group and a static group in the same path. For example, you might name your groups /Windows/WestCoast/Intranet_static and /Windows/WestCoast/Intranet_smart.

If you have a smart group and a static group with the same name, this command returns the ID of the static group.

Return type : Integer

Command Input :

Variable Name

Variable Type

Description

groupName

String

Fully qualified path to the server group.

Example

The following example shows how to get the ID of a server group. The ID is then often used as input to another command.

Script

SERVERGROUP_SUB2="/parent/sub1/sub2"

SERVERGROUP_SUB2_ID=`blcli ServerGroup groupNameToId $SERVERGROUP_SUB2`
