Verifying the install log file
This topic describes how to check the install log file for the possible causes of a failed installation.
To verify the install log file
- Navigate to BDSSAInstallationDirectory/logs and open the Install.log file.
- Check for a message that explains why the installation failed.
Some of the common reasons that an installation fails are the following:- Incorrect parameters were provided during the installation. See Verifying-the-parameters-in-the-properties-file.
- The environment settings are incorrect. See Verifying-the-environment-settings.
- If you can address the issue, do so and try running the configuration portion of the installation again (see Rerunning-the-configuration-portion-of-the-installation). If you cannot address the issue, contact BMC Support. For a list of files that you should provide to the support team, see Collecting-diagnostics.
Tip: For faster searching, add an asterisk to the end of your partial query. Example: cert*
